this paper tries to introduce the System Dynamics Methodology as a proper method for historical studies. Iranian Constitutional Revolution has been taken as a practical case. The paper’s purpose is not to analyze a historical event deeply but just tries to introduce the steps needed to apply System Dynamics to a historical event. Consequently a general view of the mentioned event will be introduced. After a critical review of the conventional methods in scientific studies, in general, and historical studies specifically, system dynamics is introduced as a suitable method in historical studies. From among common tools in system dynamics, causal loop diagrams will be explained as appropriate tool in historical studies.
