Analysis of Debt Related Behaviors of Families: The Turkish Example

This research is a cross sectional, descriptive study that investigates the borrowing habits of families and determines the effect of their income levels on borrowing behavior. The study was conducted using a systematic, random sampling method on 633 families associated with Hacettepe University. According to the results, borrowed money is the second greatest source of income for these families. More than half the families in all income groups sometimes take out loans. Families who always borrow money make up the lowest percentage within the highest income group.
