In 2004 Ewen David Jarvis graduated with honours (majoring in both Literature and Professional Writing) from Deakin University in Melbourne, where he is currently a PhD student and sessional staff member. His thesis will comprise a creative component and a series of papers interrogating the nature of library space and considering the ways in which libraries reflect the societies and individuals who govern their inception and development. It will also focus on the role of reading and writing, the role of books and libraries, and the role of stories and literatures in individual and collective psychological transformation.
